Agbrigg Flood Fund

Submitted by St. Catherines
The Agbrigg Flood fund, managed by St Catherine’s Church Centre, Wakefield Baptist Church, The Neighbourhood Management Team and Local Councilors has now helped over 100 households in Agbrigg in alleviating some of the financial difficulties caused by the floods of June 2007.

Over £7,404 worth of vouchers for either Argos, Asda or Homebase have now been distributed to people to help recoup some of the items lost in the floods and the fund has also contributed to the hire cost of the furniture container on Agbrigg road. All of this has been made possible from kind donations made by both individuals and organizations.

Households affected by the floods have been eligible to vouchers up the the value of £100.00. There are vouchers left but they are running out fast; if you haven’t received any vouchers yet then please call 01924 211130 or visit St Catherine’s Church Centre on Doncaster Road.

Please note that for administrative purposes vouchers will only be distributed on Thursdays between 09:30 – 12:30 at St Catherine’s Church Centre.
