Prizes for School Art Project

In an effort to consult better with young people a group of children from Sandal Magna Junior & Infant School were asked to draw pictures of what they like and what they don’t like about their streets and play areas.

We received some excellent work from all the pupils involved and after careful consideration the Safer Stronger Communities Portfolio Holder Councillor Olivia Rowley, WDH representative Darren Portman and Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Karen Bailes chose three winners who received prizes of £20.00 each in Argos vouchers. The prizes were presented by MP Mary Creagh.

Children draw their picturesThe winners, Macy Gatley aged 6, Sam Liddicott aged 9, and Dominika Czadowsk aged 10, were presented with their prizes during collective worship in school and all the children involved received a thank you pack for taking part.

The work produced will be displayed in school until mid November and then studied by all agencies involved and considered when planning and delivering any work in the area.

Congratulations to our lucky winners and a big thank you to school and pupils for working with us on this enjoyable project.
