Our Community Party event went ahead successfully in June despite gale force winds on the day.

The weather did cause some features of the day to be cancelled and a slightly earlier close than usual but many members of the community did come out on a terrible day , as did our volunteers who organise, set up, man the stalls, and dismantle everything at the end . Our thanks go to you all.

The entertainment included our own local children from Sandal Magna School, and the Castleford Maypole & Dance Troupe, sadly they were not able to use the Maypole for safety reasons, but both groups performed excellently.

 

Thank you to the staff from school for giving up their precious day off school.

The raffle supported by the Neighbourhood Management Team was popular with the 1st prize of the Patio set going to the Party Group's Chair!

Other prizes were won by Matt who manages the Centre, Julie our PCSO., Farouk from the Fire Service and several local residents.

Help plan for Community Party 2009

The Community Party is a free event for the residents of Agbrigg & Belle Vue, a unique occasion for our community to gather together, enjoy a day out, and get to know our neighbours in a pleasant environment.

The small and mainly ageing group who organise this event are finding it difficult to maintain the momentum needed to continue in the future, we are therefore requesting more volunteers to come forward .

A meeting has been arranged at Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Centre, Montague Street, on Tuesday 7th October 2008 at 5pm for anyone interested to attend.

Many people both residents and stall holders comment positively on the event and wish to see it continue, so if you feel YOU can help, please come along to the Community Centre 7th October 2008 at 5pm.
