On Saturday, 6th November, 12 volunteers from the local community turned out on a cold wet day to make a difference to Montague Street, Agbrigg.
The volunteers worked hard to maintain and re-plant an existing community garden begun by local children on a Play Scheme in Spring this year, at the Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Centre. They also extended the community garden space by creating a new flower bed.
Hanging baskets were emptied of summer bedding and re‑planted with winter foliage and flowers. Two hundred spring-flowering bulbs were planted on the site and the hard work was done with good humour and enjoyed by all.
Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Association provided the refreshments for the volunteers, and Wakefield Asian Welfare Association provided further support.
Those helping all received certificates for taking part.
