by Eileen Worton, Chair of Agbrigg and Belle Vue Community Association
The final AGM of the Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Group was held on the 27th September. The annual and financial reports were accepted before the business of the group was transferred to the Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Association, a company limited by guarantee, formed in accordance with funding requirements.
At the AGM, presentations by the Wakefield Regeneration Team, Neighbourhood Action and the Community Officer generated a great deal of public interest in forthcoming plans for Wakefield City and surrounding areas.
The resignation of Mohammed Ayub has left us without a project manager but this should be resolved in the new year when a replacement will be appointed to bring new energy and focus to the project. Work is ongoing with the efforts of the Management Committee and project workers to ensure project continuation.
On behalf of everyone in the Agbrigg & Belle Vue community we would like to extend a big thank you to Yubi for his work over the last five years to kickstart the regeneration of Agbrigg & Belle Vue. He has laid the foundations on which we, the community, can continue to build on in our efforts to make Agbrigg & Belle Vue a better place to live. Our good wishes go with you to your new endeavour but you will be sadly missed. Love from all at the Agbrigg & Belle Vue Community Association.
