Once again the residents of Agbrigg are suffering due to flooding of homes, gardens and cars but on a much larger scale than ever seen previously.
Homes were flooded from Doncaster Road to Montague Street, closing Agbrigg and Doncaster Road.  Allotments at Oakenshaw and Bowman Street were also flooded.
Many families have lost all their ground floor possessions, cars disappearing under water.  Gardens and allotments destroyed and even birds in aviaries were drowned.
Doncaster Road and Agbrigg Road remained closed for most of the day until the water level had reduced reopening late afternoon on Tuesday.  Residents were rescued by the Fire Service using dinghys and evacuated to the Lightwaves Leisure Centre.
